Wont go loud!

Brand new speakers, brand new head unit, can't turn it up barely at all, like i can just hear it over the engine. I've tried running a single speaker straight to the head unit but no difference, what would it be? Can't be the wire throughout the car cause i ran a speaker straight tot he unit with new wire and no diff!!

Whats the watts on your speakers?

max watts the headunit can handle?

Make sure the headunit isnt stuck on that ATT setting.

However both head units were pioneer using the same plug.

if you tried 2 head units and 2 sets of speakers, its definately something to do with the wiring, bad earth maybe, make sure none of the speakers cables are earthing or shorted against one another.

plug?! what exactly do you mean by plug? does the volume change when you increase the volume by much?

Out Of Phase. check your speaker wiring. Something is a little messed up

I have swapped neg an pos back an forth on the speakers, makes no difference.

It has to be a bad earth if i cut the earth wire off the unit an it still works, right?

yeah...it means no earth and that the unit is earthing itself through the antenna cable...bear in imind that it only takes ONE speaker to be out of phase and that it can be awfully tricky trying to find which one. Typically if it having trouble earthing itself then when you turn the volume up the unit will switch off.
