Well, I've known for a while that my engine is unwell, and I want to start work before it dies completely, but I'm stuck on a choice: rebuild the buick (similar to V6VENGANCE pre-turbo) or transplant (looking at an L67 as an example) both would cost around the same.
both have pros and cons, such as rebuilding the buick will be a good learning experience for me (a real big pro to me) but without adding a turbo and therefore changing the specs for the rebuild, there's not much more power can be extracted from the old taxi engine.
before I continue, this isn't about power... yet, and I won't go a V8, to be honest, I'm over 8's as everyone here has them.
now I love the idea of a juiced up L67, and am considering it greatly, and getting it to work isn't really a problem.
The problem is this - a rebuilt buick will be a massive educating experience for me, but at max power N/A, it roughly equals the pwoer of the L67 untouched, but there's nothing to learn from using a pre-built motor, but it's quite easy to get more horses.....
and it goes round in circles from here
learning curve or short work with headroom for the power bug later on...
Your thoughts???
