Default Rocker/Valve Covers for Buick V6

Hey, does anyone know of any companies that make Rocker Covers/Valve Covers for the Buick V6 that are taller than stock? Something that wont need spacers for roller rockers. I have seen a few different styles from the United States, but I was wondering if someone here in Aus makes them?

Heres some examples of what the States have for the Buick engines:
These are all Billet Rail fabricated valve covers and are 2 1/4 inch tall, a 1/4 taller than stock which means you dont need spacers for roller rockers.

2 sets & a Mig/Tig welder...... Cut the tops off one, then with the other cut the top off with some height, then Mig/Tig weld them together. Work's a treat.

Here's a potentially dumb question, would ecotec rocker covers fit? They're basically the same engine aren't they, and I know they had roller rockers, in VT at least.

Yeah, and I've heard that they can polish up a real treat if you can be bothered.

I'm not sure, I'd go next door and hassle the neighbours to let me have a look at their VX, but they'd probably shoot me at this time of night. Hokay, a little bit of google bashing and i came up with these,

Some interesting things, the rocker covers look damn near identical in shape and the ecotec covers look taller, but the oil filler is on the opposite side. Could be interesting. PS, sorry about the lousy image quality and angle, I'm just plain lazy ya see.

"A larger timing chain damper is installed on models from July 1989 to reduce engine noise and can be installed to previous models. The following production changes to the engine apply to vehicles manufactured from mid October 1989:
    (a) Moulded plastic rocker covers are installed with revised seals and retainers which can be installed to previous models.
    (b) The double valve springs installed to earlier model engines are replaced by a single valve spring and the shape of the retainer is modified to suit the single valve spring. The single valve spring can be installed to earlier models providing that the corresponding retainer is also installed."

It goes on quite a bit..but thats all thats relevant really. So your rocker covers must have been replaced at some point with the pre October 1989 ones.

You can just use spacers so that you don't need to replace your rocker covers. But I want some good looking rocker covers, polished something similar to the ones up the top of the thread....and i figured I might as well look around to see if any places do make them.

Also who would be interested in a group buy of some polished rocker covers that are big enough to fit roller rockers? There is a company here in Adelaide organising some now from the States...Prices havent been figured out yet though.

If all you're after is polished rocker covers that will fit with the higher ratio rockers...Get spacers for them and get your rocker covers polished. Then it's all good. Don't have to screw around with getting them made.

the brand are kilkenny castings, they made the original "holden" ones liek what i have, and they also make "v6" ones.

are these the ones you're getting? the "v6" ones?

My car's a late October 89 one and has the alloy ones as well, perhaps one of the last ones to get them as standard fitment..

These are the Kilkenny Casting covers, sorry about the quality of the picture, but they do require the spacer.

yeh, same as mine with v6 instead of holden, both look good.

i had a look at our kilkenny catalogue at work yesterday and saw listings for vn thru to vs covers, and one said it would suit taller rockers, cant remember which one tho.

one question, anyone found a good oil cap that fits the kilkenny ones? mines rooted and doesnt lock now, i want something that looks better too, maybe something to actually suit the covers.
