I've just got a HSV LS1 V8 5.7litre engine and I want to put it into my VS. Are there any places in South Australa that will do this?? And will it fit without any mods to the engine bay??

All l can say is good luck. The engine mounts are gunna have to be custom. Also, are you using a gearbox from an ls1 equiped car? The torque the ls1 produces will break anything when its under load if its not built for it.

Its an expensive venture too.. but the rewards would be whorth it in my books!!

Yea, I've got the gearbox aswell from the HSV, i was also thinking about going with a twin turbo if everything fits and legal. Can you fit a trip computer to a VS which wasnt got one, would it be a stright bolt on??

Hi, its gonna be a while i think, i got the engine and gearbox for $5,500 from sydney, and its gonna take another 10-15 thousand to fit and install, i think this is a bit much but there is a lot of custom work to do in the engine bay.

Also remember besides all the custom work needed to be done your also going to need an Engineers report. But that car (if done) would fly. Powerful 8 in a light car.

hey, i jus bought a rear end crashed vx ss which still drove and im in the process of putting the ls1 n 6 speed in my vs ute. i bought the conversion kit from cae. i found out i can do it all myself other than reprogramming the ecu. if anyone knows of any problems i may have that would be good.

A LS1 in a VS is one thing but in a ute..... wow
