Series 1 VS has a BTR/BorgWarner 5 speed which takes 2 litres of Dexron 111 and 150ml of Lubrizol 7906 whilst the VS series 2 has a Getrag type 260 5 speed which takes 1.7 litres of 75W-85W gear oil. On the side and bottom of each type of gearbox is the filler and drain plug. I think the VR has the BTR/BW box but before you change the oil you should identify what gearbox you have. There may be a plate on the side of the gearbox or maybe the compliance plate will have a code for the type.

Give Castrol a phone call and ask them if the oil you have is suitable for your model. Holden V6 and V8 do not have "transaxles" so don't understand why the instruction say it is suitable ---CHECK FIRST. Dexron111 and gearoil are two completely different oils and do not mix plus if you put the wrong one in your gearbox you will probably cause damage.
The VR and early VS take Dexron111 whilst the later VS series 2 takes gearoil 75w-85w........identify what gearbox you have first!!!
You fill the gearbox thru the filler hole till it is level with the filler hole - do not overfill otherwise you will get oil on the clutch and then it will be cactus.

Dexron 111 is the correct oil for VS auto's. From what I've read, Dexron11E is OK to use BUT Dexron 111 is the specified oil (and is supposed to have a longer service life). Do a GOOGLE search for Dexron 11E and type 111.
