Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
get the imageresizer and shrink em down a bit!!
i'll have a look once theyre smaller, dont feel like scrolling sideways.
looks real good
what kinda power is it putting out??
been to the strip yet?
I'm doing a little more work to it before it gets retuned and I'll post up a picture of a dyno sheet... It hasn't been to the 1/4 mile yet but I'm looking to take it there after my holiday, so probably around the start of winter. Hoping to get a good time for such a heavy car.
Very nice. Thats a serious turbo! Looks like we'll be goin for a cruise when my twins are done!
BTW, where did you get all your turbo oil lines?
lol at the plates
but the car looks tuff as....if you dont mind...how much the engine set you back?
shit yeh!! how much did that all cost$$$$$$$
Haha, the plates were on the car before I got it along with the interior. I'm thinking of getting it all redone in suede and maybe a few bits in vynl.
The engine/car in general cost way too much, and I'm not arguing the point that this much money poured into a V8 would certainly go faster. So before all of the 5.0L crew start voicing their self fascination I agree that a V8 would have gone faster, however thats not what I wanted.
Basically DVS, everythings been done. Everything from the 9" diff to the braided hoses but I'm not really releasing any specifics and stuff just yet- until I get a retune and new dyno figures and a run at the track.

pics way too big
not enough details

Yeah I will eventually put up all the details of the engine and what other parts were used (eg: brake upgrade) but I'm holding out until I finish the car and run it at the drags so I can put everything out at once. Plus I'm hoping to get it in a magazine once its done so if that happens I'll release everything with that.
Besides the engine the interior has been done in blue and black but I don't really think it suits the car plus it was just a quick job so I'm going to redo it all in suede (hopefully). Its got a DVD player but I'm saving up to get some stereo stuff for it (looking at 2 Kicker SoloX's run off 2 Kicker ZX2500.1)
What makes it not a street legal car? I'm just curious as to what things you think aren't street legal with an engineers certificate... Its never been defected and the police usually don't even give the car a 2nd glance.
PS. Pictures have been resized! I haven't had time to sit around and download stuff and have a fiddle but they automatically resized when I uploaded them to facebook so now its done, stop complaining.

It's listed on the engineer certificate as an exhaust measuring 75mm diameter and of meeting requirements of ADR 28 and that the vehicle external noise is assessed as less than 90dbA. I also had to get a blue slip for the car and it passed. I don't exactly test the emissions of my car daily but as far as I know its still meeting the standards.

Awesome car dude, Looks great. Wish I had a bit more money to spend on my rig!
Just a simple question, How did you go painting the plastic rocker covers? Which paint did you use? Does it stick ok?
Cheers
i am not sure how nsw defect laws differ to sa but i will list a few things that you could be done for in SA:
non stock pedals
non stock gear shift
non stock air filter
BOV (defect for emissions) - unless that is you have it so it goes back into the system and not the atmosphere
also, as far as i know, you are basically not allowed to put a turbo on anything that did not come out of the factory with one. you may have an engineers certificate, but it doesnt mean 100% you cannot be done for it.
however.. i may be wrong because yours came out supercharged and i guess it depends how much boost your runnin through your turbo, but from what i understand.. there is a emissions standard for your car, and you are only allowed a small percentage in difference to the original manufac's specs.. and as far as i know, as soon as you bolt something like a turbo on, or stroke/cam your car, it is going to go over that allowed difference.
im just stating my understanding of the laws (in south australia), feel free to correct anything i have just said if you believe it to be incorrect.
but anyway.. very nice car, looks relatively sleeper until you look closer and see an intercooler tucked behind the front bar, goodluck to you - glad to hear you dont get much cop trouble

Sweet ride bro, an engineers cert is all u needits all good!! jealousy runs wild around here..
Do u think she will be pulling around 10's down the 1/4 mile? just a guess.
I love the interior mate, so sweet, the setup rocks!!!
a gentalmen doesnt kiss n tell, so why speak on price hahahaha
As for the sleeper look thanks heaps I'm not a fan of over the top external modifications however some do look good. The police just tend to see the car and watch it drive by. If they check the number plate the only thing that will come up is a burnout in 2002 so really the car hasn't had any police attention.
As for the SA defect laws, damn that sucks! I've never heard of someone getting defected for having aftermarket pedels or gear shift. As for the BOV its covered under the engineer certificate. I don't see how a police officer on the spot can prove the car is stroked or that the cams have been done or how much boost it is running on the spot to provide a defect for any of those things. To be honest the only thing the police can get annoyed about (to the best of my understanding) is the tinting! (And this is one thing I'm thinking quite seriously about changing but it looks alot worse in the pictures and in real life it looks good)
Thanks mate. Yeah the car isn't clean at the moment its something I need to get to. The rims are on the list of things to get changed. I was initially thinking something like the HSV VX GTS 19's or the HSV VY GTS 19's but if anyone has any other suggestions I'm open to hear them. However I have to say at 19's due to it being covered on my engineers certificate.
Thanks mate. I'm hoping for 10's or less! Why not? The car is certainly pulling the power to make a jaw dropping time however the VT is a very heavy car compared to the VL's and VN's you see running into the 9's. If the engine was dropped into a VL/VN/LJ Torana/Gemini I wouldn't have many doubts at all. The other factor is traction, I haven't exactly been able to keep the thing straight very easily and I'm not sure if big slicks will fit on the back of the car (I'm considering getting it tubbed) but every one else seems to be able to over come this problem so I'm sure I will get it right some time soon.
As for the price, I'm not really going to answer it but it costs alot to make this build and yes, the car would go alot faster if it had started as a V8. So before all of the 5lt warriors start, I agree that a V8 would have been a faster option however as for a better one, I'll debate on that.
