Definately A Lower Diff. To Check The Ratio Of Your Diff (everybody Listening?) Jack Up The Ass End With Both Wheels Off The Ground, Turn One Wheel, Count The Tailshaft Turns To The Wheel Turns E.g 4.11 Turns Of The Wheel = 1 Full Turn Of The Tailshaft That Means You Have 4.11:1 Diff Ratio.

if your talking LS1 then 3.7's for auto ( 3.9s if your planning on hitting the strip a lot ) and 3.9s if 6 speed, ( 4.11 if your planning on hitting the strip a lot )

** note to fit 4.11's to a post VT , you will need to use a VS Diff :D

For an auto I'd go with the 3.46 that all VY1 SS's had, for manual I can't go past my 3.73 that HSV have used since the VY1, they make 6th gear sooooo useful!!! 6th gear 1600rpm at 100km/h - cruising beautifully!

VY ute
I often thought of fitting a 4.11 diff ration, but with a normal 5 speed, with a really tall 5th speed cog, so I could still sit it at 1500 at 100k, but i could use 1-4 for the strip. does anyone forsee any problems with this setup?
