hey all this is my second car, had a VS you can check out here if you want:
Jason's 95 VS, work in progress but sold it just a while ago as was too unreliable, now working on this car so tell me what you think:

- Debadged (except by design badge)
- Plastic door moulds removed (with a bit of a hiccup)
- Digital Speedo (thank you Holden for being so kind and not charging me for once)
- Red Engine cover
- Slimline number plates (not really a mod)
- VZ 6 stacker head unit
- Custom Blue and White interior lighting (done by Dan Humbz, PM for contact details if in eastern melb)
- VY SS front grill
- VY SS front bumper bar
- VY SS headlights

Very Near Future Mods:
- Super low king springs in rear DONE
- VZ SS Tail Lights DONE
- VY Berlina II boot garnish (chrome surrounding numberplate)DONE
- VY SS front (bumper, headlights, foglights, grille) DONE
- Chrome interior inserts (handbrake and gear shifter)DONE
- Chrome inner door handles DONE
- VY SS leather steering wheel with chrome inserts

Sound System:
- 4 x 3-way Cadence 260W 6" door speakers
- Cadence 600W 4-channel amp (75Wrms each channel)
- Alpine V12 350Wrms monoblock
- 2 x 12" Rampage subs in non-ported box (dont know power)
- 6 stacker Blaupunkt headunit with blue/white LED mod
- PAC low level line output converter (with adjustable RCA channels)

Future Mods:
- 19" PDW HBR wheels
- Extractors to sports exhaust
- Sound system DONE
- 3.7 or 3.91 Diff Gears and recalb. speedo
- Berlina chrome window surround
- SS pedals

Very Future Mods:
- Re tint windows 22% (back window is pretty average job)
- Re-Clear coat whole car (for shine)
- Coilover suspension (keep dreaming lol)


when i said that there was a hiccup with the door trim removal, as you can see in one of the photo's the paint came off with the trim for once piece! turns out guy who i bought it from failed to tell me it had been resprayed (the panel beater said very dodge job too) so off to get door resprayed after queens birthday (N) sour note to end on such a long day getting that bloody sikaflex off!

anyway let me know what you guys think of it, comments and criticism welcome.

Also don't spoil it by putting those friggen 19" Sen Sig rims on it. Every 2nd 'fully sick' Commodore on the road has them. They are the gheyest of ghey rims.

yeah sorry guys,
about the rims, your right i dont wanna look like every commodore out there but apart from those rims i havent found any i like, the only other ones are dolce dc-04 but they look like im a bogan, got any ideas for other rims, prefereably satin chrome but open to anything?

ordered chrome window surround from someone on just comm. so getting it next week xD and booking in interior lights change to blue and white as soon as i get the dosh.

Very nice looking Exec for sure. Looks like you have the full HBD lip kit option including the boot lip which doesnt show up all that often. Will look awesome lower and with some rims. Maybe even WK side repeaters and chrome door handles but that might just be my preferance.

yeah still not sure about rim choice, nothing really jumps out at me.

interior or exterior chrome? i like the interior looking at getting some for about 100$

what are WK repeaters? is that the vz indicator flutes?

just cant wait for my tail lights! thats definitely first on the list

found these on a site and im really likeing the look of them. i know they say they are double sided tape but even if i araldite them on, tey wont fall off, and seeing as the berlina one doesnt fit the executive (for some stupid reason, thanks holden) i thought this is the next best thing without attacking mine with a saw and attaching mesh to it.

tint your tailights instead of buying calais ones, you'll be just as happy with the result for $15

wk repeaters are statesman indicators. Whats with the red engine cover? I reckon jsut leave the VY ss rims on it. Lower a bit in the rear it will look tops. Why dosnt a berlina front grill fit?

Yeah as Jonnii said the WK repeaters are just side indicators, they have a rectangle shape which I and various other believe looks better than the ovalish looking ones. Also the door handles are exterior. Just the grab handle bit and you can reuse the rest from your current handles.

Edit: hah even found a how to on this site. Has the pics of them you might be interested or not. either way enjoy the VY.
WK / WL Statesman Indicators to VY / VZ

nah tinted my old tail lights but didnt like it as they got streaky and faded after a while (probly just my dodge spraying) but ive always wanted the vz calais ones so found a place on ebay for around 360$, seeing as i can sell my old ones i thought it wasnt too bad price (need a backup set for RWC if you tint them)

yeah gonna sit on vy ss 's for a while i think as got not enough money to splash around on wheels, rather spend it on better things atm.

engine cover is red as had it on my old car, got lots of compliments from it so decided to transfer across lol,

thanks i love the lip spoiler too but dont think ill go indicators or exterior door handles (could you link me to a pic of wk repeaters? cheers) bought chrome ones for vs and got quoted 300$ to fit them!!! so maybe a bit further down the track

did the 2 hold mod today before work, i didnt think it would have that much more throttle response as it is just a whole in a box but its awesome! cant wait for better fuel economy (i was getting round 450 out of a tank....not good!)


getting chrome window trim early next week, anyone know if its hard to fit yourself? i hope it goes on ok as not sure if executives could be removed? :|

and the vy's have a bigger tank

i get about 450 as well bud, same car so thats the average amount they get, you might get a little more depending on how you plant your foot, the 2 hole mod will give u a few extra k's... nothing to rave about i dont think

be careful because im not sure if the calais tail lights will fit a executive and if you do buy them you legally need to put reflectors onto the back of your car as the vz calais tail lights dont have them built in like the executives do

Yeh forgot to mention that ay... I fitted the reflectors to my bar.

oh and leave the wheels you have on it atm, they look great. They would look even better sprayed black.

yeah heard they do fit just need to bend the wiring loom to get them in but nothing too drastic.

mate yeh save up for them like I did!
The reflectors have fitting on the back that go in cut outs in the calais bars, I just cut them off and used sikaflex to glue both on.
I just sold some 19s in shadow chrome around 2 weeks ago to, ha ha
Also no need to change wiring looms, the calais lights plug straight in. The only problem your going to have is that the vy executive rear bars wont fit with the calais lights. As the calais lights are longer than executive lights. I allowed for this by swapping to a vz executive bar. Its hard to explain, but in other words your option would be to trim down your current bar or swap to another bar that allows for the vz calais lights.

ah, also man, your engine bay is super clean! how do you get it like that? I have never cleaned my bay...

haha thanks i got my car detailed when i bought it and they did a super job, detailers.com.au, bit pricey but so worth it once to get all those little scratches out and dust out of seats and things.

still wondering how to fit chrome window trim, i know the top one is easy to fit but not sure how the ones on the windows come off my executive.

yeah not sure about lowering, it needs to be a tad lower but if i put 19's on it then ill see how it looks then, as long as it looks nice and low ill keep it that way. had pedders SSSL in my old car and it was on its assss ll couldnt even get out of driveway before scrapping my exhaust lol, dont wanna go back there.

cant wait to get interior done by the guy on here that does it, all blue xD, 390$ but he does everything so cant wait!

and also I had my dash lighting converted by phreddy last monday, its so nice to drive now without the mud green coloured dash haha

Make sure you get morphing needles and digital speedo installed to, they are some great extras he does...

yeah i cant wait it will look awesome i got the digital speedo from holden, took 10 seconds and they didnt charge me what is the morphing needles? sounds good though haha.


wanting to get those 5000K headlights off ebay too, i think they make it look real nice at night, still considering new wheels, and good suggestions? prefferably satin chrome
