Anything branded scheel, momo or remotely Brock even if wrong model/part people now want blood money.

Vk seats are nothing like scheels from seat frame, runners to foam & general size...most seat frames are buckled/worn with horrid creaking sound & enough freeplay to make you sea-sick.

Better off getting vn s2 or later seats from ss-calais etc to convert to hsv seats or even vt seats are easier.

I got freebie scheels apparently they're from a UK Rs2000..same shape seat but mesh headrest, different mounting frame...according to trimmer's quote still up for big money if want brock replica interior.

Scheel seats + 2 sets of later vp-vs seat rails you have to supply then buy scheel seat adaptors, trim materials & pay for labour $75-$100hr..friggin' depressing.

If it doesn't have to be 100% correct but want nice front seats then later vp-vs ss-calais seats refurbished to hsv style or even change to brock headrest & similar style side supports would look nice.

Yeah you'll need extra set of seat rails.

Basically take off rails with flat bar on driver's add passenger rail to it with the round pieces that bolts go through...that's how to make driver's side bolt straight up.

Passenger side you modify with extra pieces, heardsome guys say can drill out rivet on flat bar then move it to forward slot so bolt holes line up then weld round stock underneath to level height of seat.

I reckon brock style headrest & reshape side supports in top half of seat with retrimming would fool most people untill you get up close & know what you're looking at.

Correct wheel is all black Momo Monte Carlo about $370 on ebay but make sure it's dark black centre & stitching...HDT caps $60-$70

I've got asteroid silver vk luckily it already had blue trim, hoarded most of tricky little items like correct radio,calais/sle interior light but still needs few more pieces & ofcourse scheels retrimmed.

Worst part was decade plus ago had near new complete Brock trim as bedroom/playstation furniture for years & sold it off to keep a gf happy.

I purchased a pair VE SS seats and had them recovered in period correct herringbone and velour but still a $4k investment (including recovering rear seat). It was quite easy mounting them to the std VK seat rails (just used box section), I spent a weekend trying to utilise the VE motorized rails first but gave up in frustration. I'm just in the process of changing the front head rests to the "scheel" look. The VE seat is really comfortable & has a great range of "adjustability", they are a lot taller than the original VK seat.

The correct steering wheel is a 380mm Momo wheel, last time I looked they were fetching + $1,000.00 on eBay (reproduction models). There are 350/370mm wheels more readily available.

Above 370mm Momo wheel C/w centre cover (Mazda RX 7 used this wheel back in the 90's).

Period correct 380mm VK SS Momo reproduction wheel & centre (note the thumb grips). If you want to be fussy the hub should be painted the interior colour!

That's not bad even better with other headrests.

What did retrim set you back & who did them?

cartoys.com.au have all black momo monte carlo 350mm for $285 on fb $299 on ebay which is not too bad.

Most of the show cars I've seen have the 350mm..leather variries from smooth to rough although rememeber originals being smoother & yes slightly larger size but for 100% correct interior is 10k fcuk that!!! I'd rather have it close enough for fraction of that cost tbh.

The VE seats actually came out of a very low kms wreaked SS ute, so the backs recline forward (didn't know that at the time), they were $250.00 for the pair on eBay & resold the electric rails for $125.00, so the seats were an absolute bargain.

Period correct herringbone, velour & vinyl $1,350.00 (just enough to do front & rear seats, all from a guy in Albury NSW via eBay), $2,700.00 for the upholster (A one man band up here in Hornsby), I took pictures of factory VK SS Scheel seats in to him & we came up with a design, he wouldn't commit to a quote & said it would cost what it costs @ $100hr (25hrs + $200.00 consumables, sounds a lot but isn't in the grand scheme of things, to his credit he did say $2.5-$3k as an indication). He said it drove him crazy trying to get the "herringbone" pattern to line up, as the pattern plays tricks on the eyes (I have read also that some of the factory VK Scheel seats weren't perfect, for this very same reason) he used the original covers as templates & reshaped the tops to suit the style I wanted for the front seats. I took the head rest material away & had the SS Group C logo stitched on to it before he attached it to the head rest. The seats are incredible, he did an amazing job. He did say over a beer that he "wouldn't be upset if he never had to do another pair"!

I've just got enough velour & vinyl left over to do 4 replacement scheel style front & rear head rests, now that I've collected all the necessary parts (rear-seat weld on headrest brackets from a Calais, "C" clips, plastic insulators, 4 new VK scheel foams & 4 additional headrests).

So, $1,350 (materials) + $2,700 (labour) + $250 (seats) - $125 (rebate for rails) = $4,175.00, also needed some mild steel box section & got the adapters powder coated, an additional $150.00 & all bolted onto the original VK seat rails using the factory bolts & boltholes. I guessing the additional scheel front & rear headrests will be an extra $700.00 so a $5,000.00 investment in total.

Even if you were to find original Scheel seats that need refurbishing from either; an old ambulance, escort, falcon or commodore with rails (including the seat adapters) $6k is a reasonable ball park figure when finally refurbished & trimmed, that's only IF you can find them & the quality period correct materials! So @ $10k with new door cards & a rear seat, ol-mate on eBay isn't making a fortune!

But for 1/2 that price, I'm very happy with the out come, my car isn't a factory SS its my take on a Group C road car.
