Hooked mirror up for a dry run without routing the cable - works well; very responsive.

A bit fiddly soldering the longer cable onto to the cut tails (and then insulating them) but not difficult.

Connected to ACC pin in the DOC connector, earthed it, and Bob's your mothers brother.

I've taken pics along the way so I"ll take some more as I route the cable and create a thread in a day or two.

All in all, happy to have a self dimming mirror again.
Well done mate.

I've looked a bit further into this Poor old dad, the mirror uses the following connections:

1 - Green - Reverse
2 - Red - 12V Ignition
5 - White/Black - Ground

Pin one is used so at light the mirrors lightens up when reversing.

Yeah, green is a common reverse colour on different Genex models.

I actually thought about hooking it up (it's really no extra work) but I figured it's just something else to go wrong and if I'm reversing into headlights my rear camera and sensors should do the job.

Yeah, all installed, pics taken.

I wasn't sure how best to upload multiple pics (direct to JC. or via Photobucket, etc) but when I looked at prev mirror guy he's created a thread and inserted images via imgur.

That's easy enough so I'll try and get it done tonight but if not, tomorrow sometime.

That's great looking forward to your pics.
Did you also get the cable cover with your mirror?

You can upload photos directly to the site with the red "upload file" button at the bottom of the reply box. It's really easy from a tablet or PC.

Thanks for the info.

So I can type "blah blah blah" then "Upload a File" then more "blah blah" and hit "Upload a File" again and the photo will be in the position I want it (presumably where the cursor is)?

Yes! The only limitation is file sizes, some large pics may need resizing.
