Is anyone considering the NG commodore after their VF?

Then I looked on the Holden website again, and the whole site was down - then just before I posted this, the Holden website was back up again...

Just checked it now and it is down.

Must be overloaded from all the excitement about the new model.

Not sure if this has posted but people who normally tow with conventional vehicles won't want to buy a FWD. They just don't tow as well as a RWD. I suspect collardos and the Ford equivalent will outsell the commodore. Part of the popularity of the commodore is it was RWD as was the Falcon which i believe is to be discontinued and replaced by the mondeo. The reason Mitsubishi closed up was because people had to many options in a FWD. Had Chryslers still been made in Adelaide i think they would have been a decent competor with holden and Ford.

I noticed some pricing of the new Commodore on the Today show (of all places) - then I went to the Holden website to see models and prices - then I went out for a few hours and saw the following a few doors down from my house:

i thought the whole idea of holden closing manufacturing was that they wanted to be more price competitive.
looks like there going to be more expensive. UNBELIEVABLE

I asked about towing capacity ... but was told that is subject to confirmation by Engineering
but it is expected to be 1200kg for the hatch and 1600kg for the wagon (both at 160kg ball)

There will be no HD version at 2100kg offered I was told in any of the 7 versions
Looking on Holden website it looks like 1800Kg for the 2.0 turbos and 2100Kg for the 3.6, I was expecting less than that, given VE/ VF 3.0 litres are 1600Kg, all things considered that tow capacity is a pretty good number, I haven't seen the ball load spec, but if it's 10% of the tow capacity I think Holden have done well to engineer those tow capacities into the car.

The idiot on the Today show this morning where they were promoting the new car was bragging that this was a bargain because it's cheaper than the VF SS it's replacing.........
He also listed fantastic "new" features such as forward collision alert and lane departure warning.........?

^ Maybe the forward collision alert actually works this time?
