Hi Team
I am looking at a way to improve the utility of my utility
. I am thinking of combining a couple of ideas. The first one is using VE ute tie downs. The rails are available on eBay for a couple of Avocados - 1700 long and appear to baolt through the tray. Has anyone done this yet? If so were there any pitfalls? Were you able to get the bolts though without hitting anything important?
The second idea is to manufacture some tie-down rails. I am thinking of borrowing an idea from the ute barrier; using nutserts to make relocatable tiedowns. Although the larget nutsert I c an find is 10mm. I may have to weld in some captive nuts as an alternate. Again if anyone has done this it would be great to learn from your experience.
I expect that I can make some mounts that use the existing bolts to mount some RHS with strategically set nutsets that I can screw anchors into as reqired. Pretty simple setup (in theory).
I look forward to your advice, and any ideas that you may have to guide the development.
