Thanks for your input. I had a look at these systems and as they appear to be specific to a wagon I moved onto looking at the VE type. Having not seen one if the flesh do you think that they might be a better option that the VE or colorado system? I imagine there isn't a great deal of diffrence between the back of a ute and the wagon.
I have no idea how they are held in other than a T45 torque screw 3 to each rail but there may be outrigger tabs on the rails as they appear to be under the carpet but I would think these tabs could be easily removed if not wanted

I would not think there would be much call for the rails so may be cheap ? but the hooks in their special pack used to be $70/pack of 4 hooks from Holden.
The packs of hooks are usually in the side compartments in the cargo area of the wagons.
I am fortunate to have 2 packs as I use them quite a lot to carry and secure stuff in the rear of the wagon hence the ply to protect the carpet.
Width of the rail is 37 mm and depth about 20 mm and the torque screws/bolts are recessed into the rail so may be recesses in the wagon floor.

Hi @rambunctious
Thanks for that . Found them online and cheap as chips. $34.80.

They are shown as being 1240 long and 110 wide. I think I coudl make these work but the tray opeing is closer to 1700mm at the top though so maybe the Colorado/VE style would be better suited to my needs. I like the locking system though.

A note to say thanks for the idea re the floor tie down points. I bit the bullet and purchased two sets of the VZ wagon tie downs including the rails, hooks and postage from Adelaide for $104.00. I am now committed to making it work! So that is idea 1 in the bag (less the time and materials to fit it). I'm sure that will be a bit of a goat f$%k to work out but we will see how it goes.

For the side tie down rails I have developed a cunning plan. Three permanent tie downs mounted at the three T45 Torque Screws on the rails. My intent is to bolt through the tie down, through the rail, through whatever spacer is required and into the existing thread. Then along the channel space install 10mm nutsets at 250mm or so centres where I can mount light duty fasteners or whatever else I come up with to stop **** floating about. I would be happy ta accept gudance from any engineering types out there!

I got some of the non flush ones and will be upgrading to these with some nutserts. Spring loaded anti rattle and only 10mm deep.

I was gonna run 3 down the length bottom and sides.

Krap, sorry bout that my bad, yep 1240 not 2050.
Musta bin holding my tongue da rong way.
But hey, that is a good price especially with the tie down hooks in the velcro pack.

If you are gonna cut them along the length to get rid of some of the bracing not needed, use a jig saw and keep spraying with wd 40 or similar to stop the blade binding in the ali, likewise if using a cutting disc/ a mini grinder.

Just found this mob as well https://www.duratray.net.au/tie-downs-tracks/

Hold that thought. I will get some photos of mine this morning. Once it’s day light.

Those eyelets are bolted into the factory torx bolt spot.
I used existing bolt holes for the hard lid eyelets. Super handy having the hard lid eyelets.
That net is a Holden VE/VF boot net. It’s really handy for smaller items and shopping.
No mods required to install them.

I get that you might be wanting to tether to the floor, but these are really cheap and would be in addition to your plans.
