I doubt if there are any differences. Just new part numbers as they revise something within the part. I would be interested to know why the SWB was different than the LWB cars. I remember there was always two part numbers for HUD's for the VF while in production.

Now way off topic, these are the different parts used in the BOM for an early build MY17 SS Redline Auto to a SS redline second last week of 2017 production. Ignore the Decal package as that was ordered from factory.

Interesting parts like seats, bumpers (unless they had different part numbers for colours which might be the case as the Bezels for the door locks and handles have different part numbers), Speakers, pedals, HVAP and others. A lot of changes for a last year of production.

Both cars were auto with big real spoiler just different colours.

I thought the HUD in the VF was the same for all cars that had it fitted?
There's 3 HUD's apparently, a basic non colour type, the common SSV colour type and the Calais/HSV type part # 92289167. 92289165 is the common colour SSV type fitted originally.

Are you sure? you are not thinking of the instrument panel centre display? The SV6 also has colour displayefelcted on the windscreen.

quick search on Google shows SV6 black edition HUD for sale. A bit confusing as there is a pic showing part 92289165 which is a 2017 part number. The ad also shows another part number. I need to find a BOM for a SV6 vehicle with HUD

I'm referring to the HUD module projecting data onto the windscreen and there's actually 4 different part numbers, 92273303, 92280509, 92289165 (MY17 SV6, SS, SSVR) and 92289167 (MY17 Calais/HSV). I've only taken notice of a Gen F1 R8 and my SSVR HUD are coloured but apparently some of the earlier fitments and part numbered modules aren't. The graphic difference with the 92289167 (Calais/HSV) module I fitted is the collision warning data shows pictures of a VF Commodore not a generic shape resembling a car.

My VF series 1 Calais was coloured with part number 92273303. I have got one car currently with 92280509 and 92289165 and they look exactly the same - no different than series one Calais.

Has anyone git MY17 Calais/HSV to confirm different HUD unit? you would think the Director would of got the HUD of the Calais as it features other Calais equipment.

I also thought software would show what to project on the LCD within the HUD display.
