Check DFI plug. It may have been knocked as it is near the dipstick ?
Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
Plugs where black as gave them a clean started up so thinking need to replace themHow were the plugs dirty?
How much oil did you put in it?
Did you spill the oil on anything?
Not that I can recall if this happens to be issue do you know any way to solveBackfiring is normally caused by incorrect ignition timing, incorrect valve opening or lean mixture. You haven't done anything to the ignition or valves- maybe you've knocked a hose off somewhere causing lean mixture at idle?
i used 20w/50 was the one recommended for v6 enginesoil too thick? I use 5w/30 like the book says. Mine shut off when lost oil pressure due to NO rear main seal and the glue failed! Yep, the rear seal area had been glued, failed at 187.000km, bought it at 125.000km.
