For peace of mind, I'd use sealer.....Generally the paper gasket doesn't seal it, without extra sealant applied

Red RTV Gasket maker or loctite 515?

Not really familiar with loctite 515, but if it is oil and water resistant, I can't see any reason not to use it. Otherwise I have used the red RTV gasket maker successfully in the past
