Is there some confusion here about wheel offsets, and rear track width ?
Early IRS track width was narrower than live axle track width.
My daughter had a VC (or VH) with SLE 15x6 rims. These were transferred to her VS Acclaim, which I am sure was same IRS as VP, with no fitment problems.
If I am wrong about this, tell me why.

I expect they fit fine but look lost under the body.

Nope. Same size as the original steel stockies. They are now on my trailer, but my VY/VZ wheels won't fit on it. Can't get them up against the hub.

VQ Statesman/Caprice wheels 15x6". Front track 1485mm. Rear track 1487mm.
VP Commodore/Berlina/SS. Front track 1451mm (with IRS 1485mm). Rear track 1478mm ( with IRS 1487mm ).
Source '45 years of Holden'. How those different measurements work ……. dunno. Different offsets for different cars but not front to rear.

Fairly sure only VP/VQ had the odd IRS offset (narrower) and VR/VS are the more common wider width.

I have genuine HSV VP rims that have a 30p offset to suit the narrower IRS where as the VS rims have the more common 40p offset.
