    Oil Catch Can for VZ

Can anyone recommend a good oil catch can for the VZ alloytech? I'd like one that comes with the correct fittings for that engine/car not just a generic one you have to try and find room for in the engine bay then drill holes. Went to clean out my throttle body the other night and i was...

    SV6 Oil Catch Can

You'd need to figure out which is the correct PCV line to use. From a picture of an Alloytech engine it doesn't look simple. The catch can on the VE S2 V6 (LLT & LFX) is more critical because of the SIDI characteristics. You could refer to this thread for possible solution to installing a catch...

    Catch can install

Two oil breathing systems on the VZ Alloytech. I put a catch can on each system as I had oil in the intake tube as well as the plenum.

    Ve alloytech pcv

I’ve done the pcv mod and installed a catch can but there’s been a hissing noise ever since. I was wondering if that is normal as the holes are bigger or if I’ve drilled the holes too big?

    Oil Catch Can for VZ

Yeah even the N/A cars seem to get it, more than I expected from the 3.6l. I could only find one catch can for the VZ on ebay was for the 5.7 & 6.0 8's. I'm not sure if the kit would support the alloytech 6, im sure it'd work the same no problem, just thinking of location in the engine bay...

    Was the Alloytec a dud?

Thankfully my SV6 alloytech (2007 S1) has been reliable. The only problem so far has been the water pump and top coolant seal. I checked the timing chain issue via my VIN, it has the updated improved timing chain...phew I do service it regularly with high grade oil and change the filter every...

Hieght adjustable seats for VY one tonner

The LY7 engines are so troublesome. In my last job we had them as company cars & they were forever trying to get sorted. In the end Holden lost the contract & we went with Ford. The L36 Buick engine even though it has it's faults has been around forever so I stuck with them. You wont have any...

    VE Commodore Sportswagon coolant disappearing

I dont think these Alloytech (your Engine) suffer with issues like the Echotech with LIM (Lower intake Manifold Gasket leakages) but if this is the case you should see water in the oil, they call it COFFEE. Some get confused when you start the car up and 5 minutes later you see water coming out...

[VE] VZ and VE Alloytec PCV Problem/Fix

Yes, I do. I added a picture of it. There are some mountains I fly through behind my house, from where I took the first picture. I hope I didn't cause any offence, mate. I find it funny to begin with that we all take time out of our day to focus on such a thing. Noone more so than me. Whatever...

Disconnecting Supercharger in VTV6 without removing it

yeah you are right, that is not the standard eaton charger, or at least not the snout and pulley. the sc6 drives fine without the belt. Obiviously you notice the difference and I would'nt drive one for long without the belt attached, because it would be really boring... but if your belt snaps...

    VE Commodore Sportswagon coolant disappearing

Hi admin and thanks for thorough response. There is no sign of any water in the oil at all nor oil in the coolant space in fact both are quite clear. Have never seen and fluid including droplets come from exhaust either. We are in Brisbane so does not get real cold here weather wise. I had a...

Best Oil for VF SV6 24K service?

From what I've noticed, GF-5 has been replaced by GF-S and likely to not be as readily available moving forward (believe it mentions it on the Penrite website) I was looking through the technical sheets and the oils from what I can tell are identical, and mentions it is equivalent. No doubt...
