The way I did it before putting it on the hoist was - start the car with the bonnet open, put the car on drive with feet on brakes and handbrake on. Give it a couple of quick revs and have a look at the engine for any abnormal shaking or vibrations. You'd need 2 people to do the above...

I've heard they are different from few of the retailers as Ive had to change mine just last week in my SSV.... Also while ur at it, have a look at the engine mounts as either one or both "MIGHT" be on its way out. That was the case with mine. Read about this on the forum in a similar thread...

Hi guys, just a quick update... I put my 19's back on the car and it ran perfect. So I've concluded its my wheels which was the problem. Now... I've changed the tyres on the 20's and put them back on the car and the problem still exists, now I'm certain it's the rims that are out of round...

The same happened to me few months back. I think Holden quoted $35 pair. I saved $15 by picking them up through a local wrecker. Cheers

I'll be putting the old 19's just to check if the problem is still there.... Although I won't be able to rotate the rears to the fronts as the wheels are staggered and I presume they would be way too wide in the front.

Dans_vz : Yes the mate with the tyre shop has a proper balancing machine....... But the mate who put the cheap tyres on, well.. He's just an idiot.!!

A very heavy right foot may be the reason for the high consumption? Maybe... Lol But jokes apart, O2 sensors maybe? Some times little things like tyre pressures make a considerate amount of difference. Or maybe dodgy brakes, bad fuel etc... 19l/100 On an omega is something I've never seen...

There's not too much performance related mods that can be done on 3.0 v6 tbh. It would hardly make any difference to the car but a lot of difference on your wallet.!! You can get it lowered all around with sssl's and good set of 19's or 20's. From memory 2010 3.0 v6 come with twin mufflers...

UPDATES..! Towed the car to barre bourke holden in berwick. Apparently they had a look trying to figure out what the issue was, but none of them could find any faults. The scan tool returned with no errors again. They stripped all the panels and checked all the wirings , fuses etc but NOTHING...

Also changed the batteries on the remote, but still no go...!

Thanks for that buddy.... But turns out battery is not the issue. The mechanic checked it and said it still is in good condition. Tried jump starting again but wouldn't crank. Checked all the fuses, they seem to be doing what they are meant to..... Got the mechanic to plug in the scan tool but...
