Don't waste your money on a cold air intake unless you're going to tune it. And for the love of god avoid Oztrack (Yes I'm aware there have been good tunes etc come out of there), but there has also been a lot of #### ups and problems.

Thread has sparked my interest in getting mine lowered, I would probably only lower it the same as OP but can't find $$ figures anywhere because they want you to call up and get a quote. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Does anyone know if I get paddles installed will it screw up my tune since mines auto and the shift points have been modified already?

@daves8 My VF SS Series 1 has only an OTR, Tune and Marriage savers. The sound is definitely nicer once you have the OTR/tune done. Much beefier note but its really only when you give it some peddle that you really hear the difference. (a lot deeper and more growl).

Sorry no offence meant, I love the way it looks and what you have done with it, just figured with all the mods you where chasing more performance/power and was curious to why you didn't chose the V8 as your starting point.

I think you misunderstood what I meant? I'm saying if you're strictly chasing high horsepower and then the XR8 would be your go to. (Especially if you didn't want to modify either car). But like most here I was happy living in this century and sacrificing a bit of power.

I guess the only reason you would even consider chosing the XR8 over the VF SS is if you wanted to keep both of them stock but having a lot more power that the XR8 offers.

Was originally a Ford man myself with the VF SS being my first Holden and absolutely loving it, can't argue with what you get for the money compared to the FGX.
