I use full synthetic but for the 50/50 mix it was what ever was cheap

I think the idea is that the diesel fuel actually thins out the sludge to a point where it can be moved easily enough which avoids blocking the pick up and also allows it to drain better. My engine came up good after this and maybe i just got lucky and maybe it did work just the way it was...

Iv used a GPS to check my speed and its pretty well bang on. Iv got no reason to believe the numbers my car is telling me are wrong until proven otherwise. Around town is a different story. it goes up into the 10's. Ill give the calculations a crack though and see what that comes up with

I do a massive amount of highway driving and iv regularly seen mine at 9.5 to 9 L/100km but have also seen it as low as 8.6 L/100kms. I have cruise control set when ever im on the highway.

I have an early VZ and i run with penrite HPR5. Have had no problems with it.

Its a 50/50 mix. so if your oil capacity is 6 litres then use 3 litres oil and 3 litres diesel fuel. The way it was explained to me (because i was very suspect about this too) is that diesel is oily as well but with the engine oil mix it made a good cleaner while still providing lubrication...
