When you do succeed in getting the plug out have a look at replacing it with a FUMOTO OIL VALVE and you will never have the problem again

Just got mine back, he showed me photos of the rust problem when they took the screen out, you wouldn`t believe how bad it was right around the windscreen, so better keep an eye on the rest of your`s Cheers

Got the same problem with mine, in the panel shop today $570 with a new windscreen or $470 if they can get the old screen out and back in again without breakage, I think I might have caught mine a bit earlier than yours luckily.....

No idea if you take the engine cover off you will see it

Sorry but I can`t but it is located on the firewall at the back of the motor it is mainly white with a black end and a vacuum pipe at each end it`s up high at the back of the motor easy to see

I had something similar on my vy finally after replacing the three way heater tap and the black and white vacuum canister at the back of the motor the problem went, vacuum seemed to be the problem

What`s this got to do with commodores??????

I used PVA wood glue on mine two years ago and it`s still holding up

Don`t think so, happened to a VT I owned before the VY and I drove it for a couple of hundred KS before I got the leads changed and it didn`t do any damage

Try nulon 5w30 your oil seems to heavy to me

The vacuum canister on my vy is a small black and white canister just behind the top of the motor up against the fire wall its connected to vacuum tubes for the aircon, I bought one on EBAY and the heater tap also,hope it works for you

I had something similar drove me mad,tried everything with no results,finally replaced the threeway heater tap and the one way vacuum canister at the back of the motor and solved the problem

Is the noise there all the time or does it come and go
