Yeah righto so what your saying is check to see if there’s an extractor gasket leaking then replace the gasket with permatex seal instead, I don’t think it had a leak at the heads last time I looked but I’ll double check.

Yeah I’ve heard that having big extractors & high flow cats will do that but this noise has only just started very recently, if it has an exhaust leak would it really make the noise a knocking noise that seems to be amplified through the extractor on the right though? Thanks for your help VR304:)

Just pulled the cap off my dizzy to check it out also & the chopper disk is covered completely in rust & there’s a light carbon burn mark on top of the rotor button. So I think this must be my issue for sure. I’ve got a spare that’s in A1 condition so I’m going to put that in tomorrow & see how...

How can you tell going off the label what series a PCM is out of? Think I’ve found one just want to be sure that’s all

Yeah righto sweet, that’s not hard to do these days so VATS removed is the least of my problems. So VN or VP PCM’s are fairly easy to find then? Thanks delcowizzid

I also put a new MAP sensor on it yesterday & it has made no difference if anything it’s made it a bit worse cause it has a flat spot now, backfires & hesitates at about 1500 though to 2000 rpm when you give it a stab on the throttle. I checked timing & it’s on 12 degrees advance so no issues...

Yeah but will a manual v6 PCM be the same as my manual V8 one?

Yeah it’s a manual guys, will using a v6 PCM & putting my v8 memcal into it still work regardless of being auto or manual though?

I have heard of this happening before, but how would that just suddenly happen?, I’ve never had the PCM or ECM out of it the whole time I’ve owned it & I’ve had it from 98,000k’s. Is it an easy fix?
