    VX Rear Suspension Question

It does that in any car. The engine is trying to turn the wheels but your not letting it.

top plate on front strut sits alot higher that norm

According to a guy at pedders, its normal. Previous commodores, the struts were attached by 3 bolts. These days the bearings just sit in a cup. The huge washer on top stops the struts falling out when you jack the car.

    Nolathane radius rod bushes

Got a clunking noise over bumps yesterday, 3 days after having nolathane radius rod bushes put in. Jacked it up and sure enough, one of the nolathane sway bar link pin bushes had done a runner. So much for longer lasting. Got to keep some spares.

    Nolathane radius rod bushes

I just had pedders put in a set of nolathane radius rod bushes (dampers) in the front of my vt. Just prior to going up on the hoist they showed me how much movement there was. With one foot on the gas (just a little) and the other foot on and off the brake, going forward about 2 inches at a...

    VT Engine Mounts

I just did mine, they were badly sagging, 135000km and fe2 springs. Paid $86 for a pair of aftermarket ones, and installed myself, bugger of a job though.

Problems with castor/camber angles in front end while lowering vx?

Maybe you will have to purchase a camber, castor, toe kit from someone like k-mac. It sits up top where your strut attaches to the body. It is adjustable and maybe it can be adjusted so the top of the struts are pushed outwards. There may have to be drilling 3 holes in the body on either side...

    Calais V vs Statesman

November issue of wheels or Motor magazine (cant remember which) has a test with a 160k plus Merc, a 160k plus 5 series Bmw and a 60k Calais v. The Merc won, but amazing enough, the Calais v came second. Go Aussies.

    How To: Change Springs/Shock

I put new struts and FE2 springs on my VT last year. On VT's atleast, the top of the strut has a hexagonal cut in it so you can use a socket to hold it as you undo the nut. You dont need a rattle gun.

    VE boot

Bridgestone Potenzas are non directional. The tires feature an asymmetrical, nondirectional tread pattern. Bridgestone has optimized the inside portion of the tread for wet-weather driving, which is especially important in Europe, and the outer tread for dry.

    dropping struts- Need help

There is one top nut attaching strut to the car. Undoing this has nothing to do with the coil spring. Under the bearing cap is another nut which holds the coil spring in a compressed state. As far as i know, with a VT, you will have to drill 3 holes in the body on each tower to hold the strut...

    VT Exec trip computer

I dont know if this works on other models, but if you hold down the mode button and the right hand button BEFORE starting the car, it displays extra stuff like temperature, battery voltage, digital speedo, litres per hour and a couple others. It goes back to normal next time you start your car.

    brakes not relasing

I had a 260z years ago that did that. It was water in the brake fluid causing piston to corrode and stick in the bore.
