    i’ve recently bought a vy with no key, i’ve put a new key barrel in and have a blank key fob, what is the easiest way to program a new key, the security light is still flashing so the MAP programmer doesn’t work, i have a Vident i400au Scanner but can’t figure it out, cheers

    @Lex @lout i’ve probed more of the loom, there’s no breaks in the 12v going from dfi to the plugs near drivers pillar, im stumped, any more help would be greatly appreciated, cheers

    I checked there was continuity from battery neg to the bolts and there is so im going to rule that out, i’m hoping i don’t have to go through the whole loom blind

    @Lex @lout do yous reckon that it could be an earthing issue, is there any diagrams of all the earthing points on the vu or engine bay for vt/vx/vy

    the first one which (from my understanding) should be +12v and the second one across which should be power for the CrankAS

    @lout @Lex after some multimeter probing i have found that the coil pack/dfi isn’t getting 12v, it’s getting 0.046 around that, what would this suggest?

    @Lex @lout ive got the scan tool paired the ecu and bcm, now it cranks but is giving code for ‘no reference pulses while cranking’, so i swapped the CAS and still the same, any ideas?

    @Lex @lout will this work if the old ecu is cooked, does it need the old ecu to get the security code or can i do it with the new one in as the old one is dead

    righto, what scan tools do you recommend if i were to buy one on a budget, also where would i find the bcm security code? thank you very much for your help

    how do i link it, i don’t have access to a scan tool for now at least, yes the serv error has gone away, the car now cranks over a couple times then stops and the fuel pump now primes.

    Mine has 11, 17, and 20, how would i go about fault finding further or fixing these? Also after swapping the ECU it only displays codes 19 and 20.

    i’ll let you know the codes tomorrow so you can point me in the right direction, i know sone of the codes have un, some have h, and some have hc or something along those lines, what do they stand for?

    no idea i got it with the second motor in and with the issue, old mate reckons it went for a couple weeks but then stopped but i don’t know how much i believe him

    My VU Ute with 200k 2nd motor isn’t cranking by the key, when key is turned comes up with serv. error, the car cranks when i bridge the relay but has no spark.

    I’ve got a 96 VS factory manual ute with a level 2 cluster and was wondering if it’s just a drop and swap with the level 3, which i pulled from a series 3 ute, thanks in advance
