    Vx Intermittent Starting Issue

I wonder if something is not drawing power from the battery. Like a stuck boot light. Or brake lights stuck on?

    Aircon compressor take 2

My WH statesman air con compressor had a bearing failure. I took to an independent shop and the mechanic fixed the bearing without removing or decompressing the compressor. Cost was around $170.

[VIC] Dash, Heater/Electronic Climate Control Bulbs for Holden VT-VX/WH-WK (VY/WL?)

I would like 2 green bulbs. I found that when I tried to remove the green condom, it split in 2. The heat they endure from the globes after a few years deteriorate the condom. Do you have any still with the green condom?

    Thermo fans cutting in late

Mine does this also. Have you checked your bypass hose at front of motor? It mounts onto a nylon connector to the block and the connectors rot and disintegrate. Can cr3eate a coolant leak impossible to spot on quick glance. There is also a nylon connector on the back of the intake manifold for...

    My vp hates low rpm

Also check the main ground lead down near the motor mount. If it is loose, it will cause all kinds of problems.

    Harmonic Balancer Help needed please

My crank angle sensor cost $75 from autobarn but I have a series 2. I replaced it after the balancer failed a year earlier. To get the balancer bolt off use a long breaker bar, put if under the frame, and tap the key to start for just a quick second. To put the balancer bolt back on tightly, you...

    Penrite; is it the go?

Took my intake off after 350 000 kilos and the inside was spotless, clean enough to eat from. I ran castrol for the first 350 000 km but have now switched to penrite 20w50. no problems.

wierd conking out on my vp

I hope your alternator wiring is tucked behind the alternator. If it sits out front the wiring will rub on the alternator and cause momentary short out. Eventually there will be a fire.

    Problem with broken radiator hose

The part in question is called a connector cool gm #92061300. Most importantly there is one on the back of the manifold also. It will also be brittle. If it comes apart in more than 1 piece, you have to remove the manifold to get to it. I removed my intake and just lifted it up and rotated it 90...

    VN - VP Radiator

I fixed a similar problem several years ago. Cost $75 at an Altona rad shop. Lasted for several years until the rad developed a hole in the metal core. Bought a new rad in Melb. for $120 delivered to Melton by courier.

Central Locking Cycles on its own!

I had a similar problem on my VP several years ago. A wire leading to the doors on the pass. side running behind the body computer had gone bare and was shorting on the computer body. This was activating the door locks. It took the HOlden dealer 3 weeks to find the problem. The wire was replaced...

    VP coolant sensor?

The coolant temp. sensor is located under the alternator. This means you must remove the alternator to get it out. You will also need to drain the radiator, and disconnect the battery. You may also need a special socket to extract the sensor from the motor.

    Allen Key Bolt STUCK... Help?

Aluminum corrodes anything it comes in contact with. that's why you see steel screws rust when they come in contact with aluminum. Use stainless bolts when attaching aluminum to steel.

    engine overheat

This could be a normal condition, due to low speeds in city driving, and lack of airflow over the condenser due to low road speeds. Could also be a clogging cooling system or a clogging radiator.

Dont like the space saver wheel

A full size 20" wheel & tyre would weigh quite a bit to get over the boot lip. Especially for women and older people and those who lack strength through illness or other reasons to get the full size tyre out. Most women would struggle to get the tyre out of the well, then over the boot lip, then...

    Solution to Sticky fuel/temp guages

I hope not too many people are removing the steering wheel to get the VP dash off. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO DO THIS!!!!!!! Several times I have removed the vp dash jut by removing 4 screws, the switch wires, and the speedo cable. Take the Gregory instructions with a grain of salt, I have found a...
