    Advice on what to do

If you use the car for earning your living, tell them your are going to invoice them for your day's wage as part of the warranty claim for not having the car. That's how I got a "loaner" from the dealer. It is THEIR fault that you have to give them the car for analysis/rectification, not...

Yeah, but get yourself locked up in the mean time for assault!:bang: Can't win either way! At least the damage was minimal and they didn't get away with the "pride and joy".

    Rear Wing or not.

If anything I would suggest the Calais lip spoiler as mentioned earlier. I have a Calais-V with one and prefer it over the normal wing spoiler. I drove a VE SV6 in NZ whilst there on business last year and couldn't see a bloody thing behind me. Oh well, it got in the way anyway...you know...

    AutoBarn - Not Happy !

It's getting that way that we need to take photos with time and date stamps before we get any work done to our cars. It WAS handled very poorly. I put my 2008 VE Calais-V I've had for four months in to a hand car washer the other day for a clean and detail. When I got it back it had a dent...

    Potential VE buyer questions

I can recommend the VE as well. The earlier ones did suffer some electrical problems though and you should be careful. The ride, after a car is lowered, all depends on the suspension fitted and the profile (mainly tyre wall hardness) of the tyres. If you are going to get the car professionally...

    Drowned my car

Good news Ramara. Glad to hear that everything went well for you. You hear so many horror stories with insurance these days. It will be good for you to get your hands on your new toy and get in some driving therapy. I'm sure you will love your new toy as much as your last!

honest mechanic, and stay away from gas

andi, by the sound of your posts, you have either a dodgy gas fitted / mechanic or someone who has something against you. I agree with others, I wouldn't be taking my car back to him. What area are you in and who is saying he is a top gas mechanic? FIND SOMEONE ELSE mate! I have had a few...

    VE Seat Problems

muzz, my next line of approach if they said anything about being a big guy was going to be "Show me where it states in the advertising or Owner's Manual where there is a weight limit on the seat?". If they managed to find something that addresses that, then because I bought the car new I would...

    VE Seat Problems

Well, I was pleasantly suprised today when I took my car for the 15000 km service. I was all prepared to have a discussion with the Service Manager about the seat panel clip breaking for the second time in four months.:ranting: They fixed it last time and Holden said they would NOT replace it...

    VE Seat Problems

That's okay andyman, yes I am a big guy (130 kgs) with short legs and I appreciate your input (truely). I will try the method of exit you suggest and see how I go. My next answer to the weight line of discussion by the dealer will be for him to show me in their advertising or owners manual...

    Your parents and technical stuff

Hey goVZ, next time you have a fist full of PC and the parents give you the "watch you don't zap yourself" thing tell them it's okay as you have had a few and the body builds up it's immune system to counter these episodes. So you have, in fact, immunities to electrocution on a small scale...

    VE Seat Problems

I am having a seat problem with my VE Calais V driver seat. On the right of the cushion a plastic housing with the electric controls has now broken the plastic clips fixing it to the seat twice. The door side bolster of the seat is putting pressure on the plastic housing and pushing it off...

Got to drive the VE on the highway today...

Love my 2008 V6 Calais-V!:w00t: Went from a 1990 VQ Statesman V8 to this car and don't miss it, except for the 5Ltr rumble:cry:. My son now owns it! I found the V to be reponsive and comfortable on the highway, with good handling and comfort. The seats do get a little hard on the bum for a...

    laptop

I'd say get a new Laptop, if you can afford it. You will have trouble upgrading most things in that Compaq laptop. It's an old unit (in laptop terms) and the best you may get away with is a memory upgrade, but that may cause you problems and you might have to get Compaq's own brand of memory.

    defect?

In Victoria you have to sign transfer papers (disposal) for the rego to change names, unless the car is sold unreg of course. How did the rego get transfered to his name? Did he just forge the signatures or sumfin'? Would be interesting to find out if he is guilty of forgery!!!:thumbsup...

    Vh not starting

Most likely not the starter. I had this problem with the VH I had. It turned out to be the ignition barrel. But it could also be a dickie ignition lick out switch on the tranny.

Whats the best holden for a 'cheap' project car ?

My suggestion would be to go for something that already has a fuel injected motor. You can pick up cheap VN-VTs, or for a V8 go the VQ Stato. My son now has mine, as I've just upgraded to a VE Calais V. You can pick up VQ Statos for around $5K ATM. The cheap earlier model Holdens WILL have...

How low do you think the dealers would go? 60th

Dealers are going to be doing deals for a while. ATM Holden are not buying back dealer surplus and with Christmas coming, it's a good time. They want to move stock. Pity I bought my Calais V before all this began!:bang:

    who's in the wrong?

Got to agree with you commirac. I was at the Beach Rd/Nepean Hwy roundabout in Mordialloc before the bridgeworks started. stolen phone being held ransom

Take it to the cops from the extortion point of view, especially if you still have the message on your phone. Agree with SOME of the others, don't pull the gun or punch up sh*t as you will probably come out worse. Get the phone blocked, or traced by the provider if you have the IMEI code AND...

    VE Commodore or not?

I was a bit hesitant at first as well. I have had a bloody reliable VQ Statesman V8 (now 350,000Km) for about 10 years and it was time for a change (son has it now). Read the reports on the forums for the VE and was not sure. Spoke to some reliable mechs and they advised it was early VEs...

Does anyone know the offical fuel consumption rate for a VE?

I'm getting 8.5 to 9.5 /100 Km from my V6 Calais V (light footed). Driving city to outer suburban traffic. It has 5.5K on the clock, had it 2 months and love it!
