nah i use the same filter every time ryco, i red somewhere else that someone had the same problem as me using hpr10, it just sounds like constant piston slap,now with valvolene cant here anything

i decided to give penrite hpr10 (10w 50) ago in my vx ss and i nocticed alot of engine noise even wen the the engine was warm ,so today i decided to dump it and changed to valvolene dura blend 10w40 , started it up and no noise wat so ever, so i wont be going back to penrite ever again

i agree with greenfoam, it realy comes down to the size of the engine , and the 5L is just to big , i just fitted a gt35r on my 5L in the engine bay and there was only just enough room to make it fit with out chopping the car appart, just remember the turbo has oil and water lines , a oil return...

Nah the stock one was fine but I thought it wouldn't hurt to change it specially to replace it with something new and better and it didn't cost that much

i got the radiator in today, had to trim a bit more off the thermo fans , this time i sealed the thermos with sikaflex around the raditator , so it can only suck through the radiator and no where else , it makes a big difference and u cant here the thermos anymore

yeah i agree i recon its perfect for the stock engine anyway only time will tell , i orded a alloy radiator off ebay and it rocked up this arvo, and its actually very good quality

i havent realy been up it coz i dont want to root the motor but , ive seen 3psi at 2000rpm and thats not even with my foot down , thats only just touching the throttle, so it should be well on to full boost by 2500-3000rpm once its tuned

the size difference is only small , i think these will cool better becuase the whole fan is covering core , the el fans hange over the end tanks , the mondeo fans sit right up against the radiator so its sealed from sucking anywhere but through the radiator, witch is the most important thing ...

well i live on the goldcoast so it was just from a wrecker where i live , i think all mondeo's have the same thermos

for anyone wanting to put twin thermo fans on the vn-vp v8s i wouldnt even bother with the ef-el-au thermo fans , there to big for the size core , the ford mondeo fans fit so much better and way less cutting , anyway here are some pics of the el and mondeo thermo fans side by side el thermos...
