I had a good offer to sell the project last week. He has come good and paid for it in full so I have sold it and I will pull the build thread shortly.

So with a few other projects finished now, I have got this build out of storage and cracking on with it again. I will be painting the underside and engine bay over the next weeks and get it back rolling on its race suspension setup. I'll post pics as it progresses.

Hi mate, I just got the biggest rims I could fit, purpose designed and built for the car. Not cheap, or easy and took 5 months from when I paid for them, until I finally recieved them. Made one-off by a Japanese race wheel manufacturer. Good luck mate.

    my vh wagooon

Big rims are best! IMO big diameter rims arent the problem, its cheap tacky chinese and japanese rims styles that look **** on Seies 1's and those ones you fitted prove it. The new 19" Aero's look great on, I have 19x 9.5" ssw's on my Walky and 18x11"s on my VK and general opinion is the rims...

brakes are all different if you want it to stop right and not just have shitty old 1984 technology. Thats why everyone changes them these days

Been using the car over the summer. Done 1000 km's by Xmas so did oil change and adjusted the Roller rockers. Did a New Years day road trip and the car was fautless and better riding than I expected with the race suspension setup. We are off to the Musclecar Spectacular in Christchurch later...

I have built up a new complete rear diff housing with a tight as, 4 spider LSD centre and finally made time to change it out this week. Drove the car today and gave it some "welly", so much more drive and far more "push" (power understeer). So much better when its pushed into power oversteer in...

Not sure where all this "springs will sag" idea comes from? Springs dont sag or at least good ones dont! And certainly not 1/2" or more. Lowered springs are generally stiffer in rate so are less likely to sag. The only time I have ever heard of springs sagging is when people heat them to lower...

    My VK Project

All you are doing is forcing the wires to bend at a different point. Better still, take some notice of how late model cars are built. I used the factory loom tubes from a late model Subaru. If you drill the hole in the pillar way higher (or lower) than the one in the door, the wire does not...

Cant face parking the car up while I wait for the new EFI system so I ordered up a brand new Holley 650 spreadbore this week. It arrived today so I have bolted it on, what a f---ing difference. Why did I not do this before now? Thanks Mr HOLLEY, you are a legend and again you have proved that...

Thanks mate, still having carb tune issues so I am not using it as much as I would like. I am importing an American bolt on EFI throttle body system so hope to have that on and fix it soon. Cheers.

    vl axles into vk diff

So many uneducated experts making statements here. If you dont know for sure, dont post as you are only confusing the issue for people who are looking for advise before they waste their money. I have personally made all the mistakes possible trying to find axle/diff combo's because of b---s--t...

VN manual pedal box into VH

Mate, do yourself a favour and ditch the cable clutch setup. If you use a heavy duty clutch, you will need to start going to the gym to be able to put up with it in round town stop start traffic. I have fitted VL 6cyl hyd master cylinders and pedal boxes straight into all of my early Comm's...

Whats the best way to take the paint off a front bumper

Soda blast it, does not leave a profile on the plastic. only removes the paint and you will only need to clean it thoroughly, prime, rub and paint it.

This is crazy, I should sell up my company and come back over there to work again. I have just done this exact job for a client at my company. Long weekend so I have decided to re-spec the boot interior. I am using plywood to make floor boards, side panel for the rear 1/4's and panels behind the rear seats. I will cover them with carpet and make the boot fully carpeted and smoothed out. Pic's will follow if I ever work out the photo...

    vk project! staring from scratch!

Have a mate put there thumb over the #1 spark plug hole. turn the engine over with a power bar on the the crank pulley bolt. If its on the compression stroke as it approaches TDC, it will pressurise the cylinder and push your mates thumb off. If not, it is on the exhaust stroke, so simply keep...

The car is done and ready to run. I am still waiting for my electrician to finish the engine loom replacement and fitting it up for final testing etc. Once thats done I am ready to get oil pressure and run the engine up. I fitted up the cold air tray last week and decided I could not run it...

Wheels arrived today, They look better than the Simmons I bought a few years ago for my Posche and way better in real life than the pictures I had of them originally. Hi mate, who did you get the kit from? Maybe you should check with them for mounting details. These kits were originally built for racing with a limited life span. They were light and simply fitted as they inherantly got knocked off and damaged fairly readily. Using them on a road car requires...
