exact same thing happened to my vp, it was because the coil was wet. i just left if for a few hours in the sun with the bonnet open and she started fine ;) bloody holden peices of crap cant even take a splash.

problem solved, it was the belts. ive never heard a belt making a knocking noise before but i guess anythings possible with a bloody holden.

oh k, could it be possible that the aftermarket hsv option was fitted after production..... so it wouldnt show up on the options list....? i was told that my car was a test mule for the 185 VR engine. also i was told that power windows where not availible as a delete option in the vp ss.... mine...

probably for more power id go bigger injectors, tune and maybe a double throttle body or sumthing. should see if u can slap one of those vt calais super chargers on it with a smaller pulley.....

lol! with the temprature thing, i doubt it would add up like that, i rekon the heating process would slow down a bit after say 50dc. know what im saying? like i dont think it would be as simple as 30dc intake temp plus 90 dc plenum temp = 120dc intake air...

cold air, if too cold reduces the rate of fuel atomization. which means it wont burn the fuel as efficiently. just like if you try to evaporate water in a fridge. it wont happen. and yeh i see what ur saying, that it would be better to start it at 25dc, but it really isnt going to do anything to...

think bout this for a sec, cold air intakes dont make the air "cold" they just take air from outside the engine bay which is usually like 28 degrees anyway. once it goes through the filter is gets to the intake pipe, then it runs past ur "hot" throttlebody, then through ur plenum which has "hot...

unless ur running to4's and ported heads, a pod filter will do nothing but make u look like a rice burner if ur looking for performance without spending big buks just replace evrything thats perishable like leads, plugs, fuel filters, oil filter, oil, if its auto get a auto gearbox service...

is it a v6 or v8?

ok bit the bullet and bought a vt lsd... upsized bolts to 14mm high tensile, retapped threads..... i could literally hang the vp from the diff now lol, badass bolts.

there pretty easy to replace, just make sure u count how many times u wind the steering arm off, and wind it onto the new rack the same amount of times.... otherwise u will have terrible handaling and u will chew through your tyres real quik.

if ur loosing coolant, you may have a leak but chek the overflow bottle when u stop the car. if its overflowing you will most likley have too much pressure in the cooling system, which could mean bhg. also chek ur radiator isnt blocked, look for cool/hot spots on the radiator by using a temp...

pod filters do nothing and are a waste of money.
