I would say coil if it seems to be heat related.

What about ignition? Shitty ignition will give you the exploding airbox experience. Presumably you've got a new rotor cap and rotor in the dizzy and newish leads and plugs in. Coil fails completely in my experience but it's pretty cheap to replace or upgrade... What about the vac hoses running...

I recently did something quite foolish when reassembling ignition, hooked up leads in cylinder order rather than firing order. If it's not that start with the basics, eg is there fuel is there spark to each lead etc. I have gotten it wrong too often to ignore basics anymore. When sick of that...

I'd do both, use your water pump outlets for heater and get a thermo housing with outlets for the gas or vice versa. Would save a lot of cocking about with T adaptors.

Also check rotor button, it may have never been changed, when they get worn down ignition will turn to crap. Maybe replace anyway, they cost all of about ten bucks.

The slidey bits get sticky sometimes, clean with carby cleaner or brake cleaner and when dry hit it with some graphite.

most mixer systems run an input off the oxygen sensor so the mix is adjusted continually.

There is an issue with speedo that is related to reversing light not working, I had this a while back and did speed sensor etc first... Check your fuse, if it's not blown then discount reversing light issue. (if it is then check trailer plug loom)

Was looking for gasket sets the other day and must have hallucinated the pistons in one of the kits. There was a set of "acl race series pistons" on gumtree the other day for $200maybe I'm just easily confused.

isn't an acl rebuild set with pistons about $300 anyway?

When this happened to me I went to the bloke who fitted the system and had him install a 2nd hand rear muffler off a v6 and weld flanges on both the v6 and the real muffler so I could swap it out easy in 10 minutes. If you try with a bodge more bodgey than this you probly wont get away with it...

What about the coil?

One thing that is common is the buttons get dirty inside, if you are handy with a soldering iron it only takes 10 minutes to replace them. You can test them easily enough with a multimeter and an extra pair of hands.

Get a quote from an aircon place and at least you might get a diagnosis for free.

Pull the plugs from behind the headlights and plug them back in one at a time to see which is blowing the fuse is your first place to start mate.

The compressor will cut out if the system overheats. Reasons for this include your condenser being full of crap in between the vanes (the skinny silver radiator thing in front of the engine radiator), the engine radiator being full of crap between the vane things, your condenser fan not working...

These come out pretty often if the thread into the alloy is stuffed. You can get some slightly longer bolts and nylock nuts and drill through the alloy and fit right through = last time you will see the problem. Alternatively the wreckers is your friend.
