Hey mate I had a very similar problem, took off the intake pipe to the throttle body and noticed a pool of oil, had oil all through the intake. Ran a can of combustion chamber cleaner through and worked a treat.... Just drove Sydney to Melbourne no problems whereas before I couldnt get halfway...

Yeah mine was in the tray, just pull out the big bloody panel in the floor of the tray up near the cabin. Pump sits in the tank held in by a circlip...

Wheels mag did a test on all 3 fuels a while back... dollar per km they're all the same. They got further on the premium(98) and a little less on the e10 but cause of the price difference worked out pretty much the same... Regular unleaded was in the middle.

Poor oil quality and short trips allowing said oil to break down more will also give me oil in the intake from the pcv. As nick_ said I dont have a catch can, having had the car for only 6 months I can only assume its a gradual build up and I doubt a thin or thicker oil will stop it from...

Just changed the oil on my ute yesterday after finding oil in my intake manifold. Mechanic recommended Castrol Edge 5w-30.

Kirawee mufflers... a bit of a trek for you. The exhaust is a full xforce system, sounds mean as on open throttle.
