Its a bit of a work in progress at the moment just sorting out where to put all the warning lights as they won't fit into the original VH space. Not sure when i can work on her next but will try and take a few pics next time i have the camera out...

My VH tacho won't work with my V6 as the older tacho's require a series of pulses to work correctly. The V6 puts out a voltage which rises and falls with the change in revs. Don't know whether it can be modified though, but that problem will be a thing of the past when i end up getting my VP...

Great to see more early model V6's! Mine has been in my VH SL/E for 7 years now and have never looked back. Sure beats the blue 2.8 that was in it :) I also did all the work myself and I only needed about a week to do it all. I did alot of pre work tho.

Well, the VS spat out some diagnostic codes at me tonight... code 46 and 47 crank angle sensor. So Hako, i think you might be right. Are these sensors expensive to buy? I know the harmonic balancer is a cow to remove, has anyone had this sensor fixed and what did it cost?

Thanks for the replies. I don't think it would be the crank angle sensor as the car has time to cool sitting in our driveway before we go and find out it won't start. I too thought it was the fuel sender which it still could be giving me the incorect reading, but the car not starting with fuel...

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but my wifes VS seemed to run out of petrol the other day after she parked it at a carpark. The fuel gauge still read 1/4 of a tank and the low fuel alarm didn't sound, but the car didn't start. I topped it up with 10L of petrol and bag started...
