JC Political Thread - For All Things Political Part 2

I never mentioned price regulation. I think it was you who mentioned the ACCC? I just said they were useless when tackling fuel price gouging.

JC Political Thread - For All Things Political Part 2

Yeah, the ACCC have done a great job of curtailing price gouging in Australia, haven't they? You know all the BS the fuel companies will wheel out when called on this. "Market forces" "Barrel prices" "Transport costs", etc. The ACCC has less teeth than a newborn hen.

I have. Mr Broad is not happy about it either. None of the Nats are; it's a real disconnect from the Libs at the moment. In future I'll remember not to bring up political issues that don't matter in the city.

It's a bigger issue than the Carbon Tax was up here. A friend of my family runs a truck business. 3000l per week for fuel. 2c per litre is a huge hit on his bottom line. Bigger than the carbon tax was. The price will have to be passed on, to the customer. This country is built on the bush...

JC Political Thread - For All Things Political Part 2

Around my part of Vic, they never fluctuate. Prices stay the same for months on end. That's why I noticed the 2c jump. I asked at the counter and the manager said 'excise increase kicks in today'. Hence the political connection, and the question. It was just a question - if you haven't...

ULP now 156.99c. Up 2c. Was 154.99 prior (country prices already inflated LOL). Not the half-a-cent that the gov't promised. Anybody else see gouging at the pump today?

    Noises when hitting bumps?

Awesome post - I wish I knew all this before I wasted over a grand on replacing Holden's excuse for suspension LOL
  11. B

    Noises when hitting bumps?

If you get any suspension work done, do not replace with OEM parts. You'll have rattles again within six months if you do. I made that rather expensive mistake.

    Air con belt issues!!!

I had it happen at quite low revs a few times, so you don't really have to be flogging it for it to happen. It was a design fault which was fixed in series 2. As Grennan said get the upgrade and be done with it.

    Thank you Apple!

I will agree that the technology has enormous potential. I just think that it isn't quite there yet (see mpower's point above). If you don't intend to insult don't call people names? Cheers.

    Thank you Apple!

Fanboi is as fanboi does. Not as fanboi says LOL. The way you jump to the defence of these devices is borderline evangelistic. Also, I wonder why you didn't insult Reaper for saying virtually the same thing as me? Is he too big a fish for you to bully?
  15. B

    Thank you Apple!

Wow man, resorting to ad hominem arguments already? I'm not going to bother with this any more. Enjoy your toy fanboi.
  16. B

    Thank you Apple!

Where did I say you did. I laughed at the evangelist in the video saying it. He wasn't being sarcastic, he was being a fan. That's extremely obvious to the uninvested viewer. And he never contextualised by chronology - thus he means it's a computer compared to a current computer. Which it's...

    Thank you Apple!

Come on man, you don't think that 'supercomputer' is hyperbole AT BEST? A computer has productivity functionality. Running Photoshop, CAD or ProTools on your phone are you? FFS. I give up if even someone who knows ICT falls for this tripe.
  18. B

    Thank you Apple!

I LOL'ed at the 'super computer in your hand' bit the most to be honest. Now that's horse***t. If it was a computer in your hand it would work like a computer...

    Islamist Extremists must be stopped!

There have been many Christian terrorists throughout history. Everyone knows about the crusades and how they invaded and murdered with aplomb. Then there was the Inquisition that murdered the Cathars (who were just slightly different christians) by the thousands. In our time we have the IRA who...

I see a business opportunity here. Anyone wanna buy a tinfoil hat? Near new, stops govco rays, enhances theories and maybe theology. Maybe.

I actually love the iPad for surfing around the net at home - using 3G instead of WiFi. Just because it's useless for work doesn't make it useless overall. Minecraft is great on it and it works well with the PS4 too. These are entertainment things, though. It just doesn't fit for work - no...

    Thank you Apple!

I'm gonna type in caps because you don't seem to be seeing what I've posted (post #15): IT DEVELOPED PROBLEMS AFTER WARRANTY RAN OUT. APPLE WON'T REPLACE IT NOR WILL WORK. IT CAN CONNECT TO WIFI IT JUST WONT HOLD SETTINGS; THUS IT'S OK FOR MY DAUGHTER BUT TOO CUMBERSOME FOR WORK. GOT IT? LTR
  28. B

    Thank you Apple!

And you didn't read post #15 where I said "It didn't develop this problem until after the warranty ran out...Apple refused to help". Learning to read will help a lot in life. At least I got a 'free trial' with the iPad - now I know I wont buy their products!
  29. B

    Thank you Apple!

Nice try, but no. WiFi issues are real on iPad, look 'em up. It won't hold settings, so you have to enter the proxy etc every time you wish to connect. It's on about 10% of the devices we got (got about 50, five don't work anymore). They didn't develop this problem until after warranty ran out...

    What's everyone Playing

I'm loving it on PS4. My brother is too. Maybe you need friends to play with to get anything out of it?

    Thank you Apple!

LOL Apple. My work bought me an iPad. It doesn't work properly (connectivity issues). Now it's my daughter's toy. $800 for a toy for my child. LOL Apple.

    What's everyone Playing

Yeah Robbo, it's about to go nuts. There's a heap coming out this year, and even more stuff next year. Whatever type of game you like should be covered soon. I'm excited for LoTR and Dragon Age which are incoming. Next year I cannot wait for Bloodborne - I love Souls games and this one looks...

Are you putting off changing your wobbly balancer?

It's normal, yes. Good? No. Can it be fixed so there's no wobble? In theory, yes, but unlikely. Re: the pulley - yep it's a fix Holden came up with specifically to stop the belts being thrown (Hence it's standard in series 2). Before I knew about the extra pulley, I was told 'not to accelerate...

Are you putting off changing your wobbly balancer?

I must have been quite lucky then - I've thrown three belts since 2008 when I got the car and it runs better now than ever! After the last one in 2010 I got the extra pulley put in and have never lost a belt since. If you have a series 1 get the extra pulley put in. If you have a series 2 Holden...

Is this too wobbly? (Harmonic Balancer)

Original first time, then aftermarket Australian-made. Made no difference in the end. I've read on the web that people DO get non-wobbly ones but I've never seen it in real life. I have four mates with 6lt SS variants and they are all the same. Then I have another mate with a BAII XR8 and his...

Is this too wobbly? (Harmonic Balancer)

Raj, I can't see the video, but I can share my experience. I've replaced 4 balancers over the years, and they always end up wobbling again. It's a L98 thing, according to Holden. Now I don't even care - I've added the extra pulley so the air-con belt doesn't fly off any more (you already have...
