Hey guys, have just put my sv6 in for a new radiator ( plastic tank has cracked ) and when I asked if they fill it with red coolant, they looked at me like I had two heads. I use the good nulon red long life stuff. They reckon it "eats" away parts of the cooling system like hoses, seals...

When I did mine I used gasket stripper. It was near impossible to remove with a razor blade. Not cheap but makes life easier. DO NOT GET IT ON PAINTED SURFACES!

What sort of goodies could vz owners be getting their hands on in the future?

How much can this box take before it falls to pieces? I'm thinking of going the supercharger, cams and pacey headers. Any advice other than the usual "get a v8" bullshit would be greatly appreciated. :-)

I emailed pedders and they said they've had 235s rub on the rears as well as 245s.

I'm looking at getting my SV6 lowered an inch through pedders but I'm having one concern, I'm also getting some 245/35/19s really soon and I'm worried it's going to scrub on the front struts, the rubber is close to it as it is.

I have recently replaced my heater tap and I'm guessing you have a v6. Take off the engine cover that's on the same side as your battery. It will be at the back, the small hole is for the vacuum which is the really small hose. The inlet and outlet are both for the flow of coolant.

Well that is interesting mate, I don't think it's worth that much just to make it shift harder, let's hope in the near future someone cracks this thing. Thanks for the insight mate.

I understand you saying wait and get a v8, it is logical and yes if I sell it, I won't get the money back. I just want to be different, I truly love this car and I have no intention of selling it :)

I hope that would include install but I don't see it not working, It's a ve gearbox. I will email them back to find out mate. However it is a lot of money, much more than what I want to afford. Surely someone can rebuild it with stronger internals.

Wow, you would have to be doubling the amount of torque the gearbox can handle right? I contacted BTA Motorsports in Sydney and I asked them about strengthening my 5 speed and they said they could supply me with a 6L80E that could tolerate 550rwkw for $5000.

I plan on modifying the motor beyond the extent the drivetrain can handle, so I'm wanting to strengthen those components. I would like to get a lot out of this engine, over time. And the best thing to do now is this. Sorry for not being real specific lol
