00 vt main pully wheel

ok, this has been going on for about 6 months, it makes this weird knocking noise when cold and only sometime after long drives,
the main pulley wheel knocks, its more annoying than anything, is it serious? wheat can i do,? know one seems to know anything about it? please help

If you are talking about the harmonic balancer, which is the big pulley at the bottom of the engine, have a look at the rubber part in the centre to see if it has cracks or pieces missing. If so you will need to replace it.

it can indeed be serious if it decides to completly fall apart, especially if its been going on for 6 months!

and have fun taking it off, easy job to do provided you can get your hands on a pulley puller big enough

it needs imperial thread bolts i think. they arent to bad to take off. 1 round pulley with 3 bolts.
