I am currently trying 100 % Octane from United service stations in my 2000 S series 3 VS 3.8 Ute. Cost $1.45 ltr, this is the replacement for 98% octane.
So far noticed increased performance, more responsive have not finalised litres per 100km yet.

Is it available at all united service stations. Wouldn't mind giving it a whirl

Wow, $1.45 per litre. I would be hard pressed to find 98 at under $1.60 and I'm only an hour north of sydney.

Isn't it a ethanol cocktail though?

I believe it is. There was a Shell fuel a few years ago that was 100 Octane and used up to 10% octane, this is basically United's version of the same product.

The car I had before the Commodore used to love a 60/40 mix of United 98 and regular United 91. (I was too povo to put just the 98 in at the time) but I'm uneasy about using any Ethanol fuel in a VS Commodore simply because it wasn't designed for it. That's just my personal preference though.

What the hell is 100% octane? Octane is not a percentage.

Because it's not the right way of saying it and you look like a twat when you say xx% octane. At least OP knows how to say it properly now. I have doubts about the cheapness of that fuel unless it's e85 in which case its going to cause a lot of issues. More then likely it's 98 with 10% ethanol.
