1996 VS Commodore idle issue

Hello all,

Firstly i must admit i dont know much about cars hence the reason coming here to look for advice.
Please be nice to me as im new here.
Ok i have the above commodore and have been having an idle issue.
If i sit idling at an intersection or trafiic lights the car will idle normal for 10 seconds or so then the idle will drop and the idle will be very rough like the car is about to stall.
Once i then take off its fine until the car idles again.
I have just today had the spark plugs and leads changed but once i picked up the car it was worse then before.
I have been reading a few things and had the throttle body sensor checked but was told its ok.
Can someone please help and suggest how i can get this car to idle nicely?

Could be a fuel issue or maybe a vacuum leak somewhere

So what would you suggest now?
Do you suggest changing the fuel filter or fuel pump?
With vacuum what would i check?

Change your IAC motor.

Check for any logged error codes. Have a read through the posts and check out the pics in the link below if you are not sure how to do this quick simple test. All you need is a paperclip or small piece of wire to do this test. These codes can point to all different sorts of problems that would otherwise be very difficult to find.

Change your IAC motor.

IAC is that idle air control valve is that correct?
Are the expensive to replace?

Check for error codes like Brett mentioned before spending money on parts. Sounds to me like an IAC issue or a dirty MAF sensor.
