Normal for the fuel usage to seem ridiculous when the car has only been idling. My VZ Calais went from 13L/100km to 99L/100km after I changed the battery.

Give your MAF and throttlebody a good cleaning then take the car out for a decent drive and see what your usage changes to.

does it get upto temp fast like it used to maybe you have cooked the thermostat towing.mine goes as high as 30L/100 on the instant readout when driving gently when its first started and as soon as it comes upto temp the instant readout plummets back to normal

Its actually the opposite man, takes a very long time to warm up, but has been like this since i bought the car, (6 months +), so it is possible the thermo is shagged.

It is on my to do list at some stage.

Thanks

Will do this, any recommended product to clean MAF and t/b?

Thanks

Edit;- Charging battery overnight too, to rule out and low voltage issues.

CRC MAF Cleaner for both. Sensor safe. Increased my fuel usage when I cleaned both.

Just filled up.

Put 30.00 litres into the car.

Had traveled only 143 KS from fill up last time :(

So works out about 0.20 liters per hundred, is that right?

Somethings not right :(

Its actually 20.97 L/100kms

What sort of driving was that 143kms?

From my limited knowledge of the V6s the most common cause of high consumption is shagged O2s...

The driving was all round town driving.

I used to experience 12-13L around town, and from my investigations that is about average usually.
