I've got 18"x8" in my VX wagon, not lowered. No rubbing at all, although if I get 245s fitted when I replace the tyres (I have 235s on now) I'll see...

I have 18x8.5's on my vx sedan and its dropped 3" rear and 2" front, No rubbing, has heaps of camber tho, I think its around 7 or 8 degree :bang:

In Victoria:

From the standard rims thats on the car from when it rolls out of the factory:

- You can go 2 sizes thus 2 inches larger in the diameter of the rim
- You can go 1 size or 1 inch wider rim

Incorrect. You can go as large as you like in the diameter of the rim provided the overall rolling diamater does not increase by more than 10mm... 2inch law hasnt been around since 2004.

sorry man but this info is INCORRECT. there is no such thing as the 2 inch rule!! it works on rolling diameter!! whatever the original size of tyre on whatever car is, u cannot go and bigger or smaller than 15mm that original size! the "2 inch rule" isnt even on the vicroads website!! http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/CC48FC10-4D57-4F04-82E1-3BD72EF88340/0/VSI8.pdf

but the only other problem is tyre load and speed rating. the ratings on the tyre MUST meet the requirements of the placard for example : vt comes out with 205/65R15 with about a 92H load/speed rating. legally you can have 245/35R19 93W. this tyre is within spec of rolling diameter and load/speed rating. ( i have these on our vt wagon )
