hi i was wanting to know if the 2000 vs ute came with an air bag on the steering wheel or not thanks

Actually mate that is incorrect as far as ute's are concerned. I'm not sure what the deal with the sedans and wagons were but as far as ute's go it was a factory option. I have a 99 VS S Pac ute and mine was optioned without a steering wheel steering wheel.
It should say on your steering wheel whether or not it has. The air bag steering wheel and non air bag steering wheel do look a fair bit different too.
Chuck up a picture and we will be able to tell you.

optional drivers and passenger air bags, excpet berlina calais statesman and acclaim which where factory fitted.

ute's where optional as well unless its an olympic edition in which case it will have a drivers airbag.

Incorrect as far as sedans go as well, my 1996 Series II VS S pack sedan does not have an airbag or ABS. If you have an airbag you also will have a light on the dash that will come on with all the others on startup. Standard airbags only came in with the VT.

Drivers Airbag and ABS [not sure about ABS] was standard on Acclaim, Berlina and Calais. Not sure about the SS. Execs and the S made do without but could be optioned with either driver, or driver and passengers airbag, likewise the Berlina which could be optioned with or without the passenger's airbag.

My July 2000 VS S Series 3 ute does not have air bags.

Having had a few to many vs's sedans, wagons and utes I can honestly say that it is a surprise every time I get one as it doesn't matter on the year as I have even had executives with airbag steering wheels and abs.
