Is the series 1 v calais ve transmission interchangeable with any other transmissions

it can be swapped with another 5l40e
if you want to fit a manual or a 6l90e a lot of work

I wish I did a manual conversion. Would have been easy to do while I was stuffing about with the pedal plate.

Bloody 5L40 was a shitty gear box in the VE. They seem to go well in VZ.

I understand that but I’m j having problems atm with mine. I had recently bought a new trans that came out of another ve with the same axel and trans number but when I lined up the new one and the old one I was replacing they didn’t match up and the new trans was a 16 pin where as the old one was a 20 pin I’m not sure if it makes sense to you but I’m just wondering if they are interchangeable

Reading your post; I can only arrive at the opinion you have answered your own question. Can you provide photos of both part number stickers?
