2009 VE SS
Good afternoon all

I am new to this forum but I need some advice and direction with my build.

I am building my 2009 VE SS into a track day car or IPRA spec car as far as Motorsport Australia goes. So, full race, stripped out with roll cage custom wiring and ECU etc.....

Work so far:

Engine: Cam, OTR and minor mods (lots more to come)
Interior: Fully stripped out and painted satin black to match roll cage, wiring stripped, all airbags, steering wheel, seats and the rest.
Wheels: 20in King Detroit (staggered) - may have to downgrade to 18in.
Brakes: AP Racing drilled and slotted 4 pot
Body: Rain light, hood vents and pins, splitter (non functional), NACA ducts in roof

Planned work:

Engine: Racing heads, new manifold, underdrive, rockers and haven't decided further (500hp + target).
Interior: Motec C130 dash, ECU, PDM and loom, full national spec type 3 roll cage from AGI, Racetech or Sparco seats, OMP steering wheel and harnesses, Scroth safety nets, custom door cards, quick access fire extinguisher and the rest of all the fun stuff
Exterior: V8 Supercar front bar and wing, custom diffuser
Wheels: 18in required for Motorsport Aus regs
Brakes: Custom pedal box and no handbrake, ABS and traction control delete
Trans: T56 Magnum
Exhaust: Side exit 3in straight through no cats
Suspension: MCA Race Reds
Cabin cooling: Twin NACA ducts in the roof and a small heater box for demisting
Fuel: Custom cell in the boot recessed into where the tyre well used to be for lower centre of gravity

Any tips, hints or comments welcome. The car is mostly to be used for track days and possibly IPRA Competition

Many thanks.

I have an Elfin Formula Vee and Porsche 914 which I race with the Historic guys up here. But I want a modern beast to throw around. May take a while for the build. I estimate another $30k to complete it. :p

Interesting to see you have a 914.....A 6 or 4?
20 years ago we lived in Charlotte North Carolina for a while, and when we used to go to Lake Norman jet skiing there was a field on the way with probably 100 or more 914s in it in all sorts of condition. Just rotting away by now I guess.

It's a 4 left hand drive from France. Fair condition but I'd like to restore it to it's original condition and colour. Currently it is red but it was originally orange.
