Hello there was just looking for some help i have a 2010 ve ssv se with the l98 motor, i have managed to punch a hole in my sump and before i relised this i got a low oil light on the dash the the car just shut off i haven't been able to turn the motor over at all and wanted to know what i should tried before fixing the sump as i think it might have seized the motor

Can you turn it over by hand using a big ring spanner or bar on the crank? Where are you located?

I feel this is probably the case. But if old mate is close to me I may be able to swing around with a bar and socket to see if we can get the crank to turn.

Even so, they will still run for a few mins after you lose oil pressure before they lock.

However, yes the chances of this engine surviving after a loss of oil pressure are buckleys and none.

as the others have said remove the spark plugs and see if you can turn it over by hand with a socket and breaker bar on the crank pulley bolt

Another OP never to be heard from again?

Maybe the answer they were looking for was;

A big hole in the sump is no need for worry, I'm sure it's fine. Engines don't really need oil. It's just a marketing ploy to sell the stuff..

Forgot I wrote on this from goanna try removing the plugs and turn it over with a socket and crack bar tried the other day with out removing the plugs and was just rocking the hole motor
