2015 VF Calais V Wagon V6 Series 2
Hey Everyone,

I have a 2015 VF Calais V Wagon Series 2 (V6)

Hoping you could all help as I am lost with what the problem is. Removed my jacket from driver side passenger floor the other day and it was soaking wet and normal water it’s not coolant or any other colour besides a clear form. Lifted the mats on both drivers front and rear passenger and they were soaking.

Anyhow, I steam cleaned the carpet and dried it out. I’ve checked the coolant and it’s full no issues here.

Anyway I used the car heater to dry out and no issues here. I high pressured the outside to see if maybe leaking somewhere and no issue here.

Today I used the aircon to test it and noticed it’s getting damp again, when I turn the aircon on and run for a while the rubber under the mat gets damp also. Any idea what this is and if you’ve had the same issues in your VF?

Thanks in advance guys hopefully can get to the bottom of this as it’s doing my head in!

Check to make sure the grommets in the fire wall are correctly fitted, and undamaged.

So carpet gets damp again when you use aircon yet they reckon they’ve checked the aircon?? Wonder how well they “checked” the aircon?

We cannot figure out how the bloody carpet is getting wet…
Your dealer has to figure it out, not you.

There was a tech service bulletin on wet carpets and if it was applied correctly it should have resolve the issue. If the carpet is still getting wet when using air con, something wasn’t done correctly and the defect still exists. If it also occurs without air con use, you have another defect.

In either case, no reasonable person would think it’s acceptable for a 6 year old car to be getting wet carpets unless someone forgot the window or sunroof open during rain (which isn’t the case here). To have such wet carpet occuring would simply mean the vehicle does not meet ACL durability standards and should be fixed under your ACL statutory warranty rights. And if it ain’t aircon drain grommet, it could need a dash out job to find another grommet or some seal sealer hasn’t been installed correctly during build at the factory.

So I‘d give Holden Couldn’t Car Customer Care a call and discuss this defect with them. You shouldn’t have to pay diagnostics fees for fault finding a known defect, Holden should carry the bill for all investigation and rectification costs.

Hey bud thanks for the details above legend. The peanuts at Holden were stuffing around and taking no responsibility. I ended up getting an independent specialist out to my place and went through it together. Checked all the aircon and heater and grommets and couldn’t find jack. I will try Holden again tomorrow, they said I must pay a fee and that no recalls have occurred on my model which makes no sense….
