Heyas....
So, was driving my HJ down the road, 2nd gear and then it was like i lost fuel to the engine, it stayed running til i come to a rolling stop on the main road, awesome!
Now it wont start, it tries to, but it doesnt ignite (i think), theres fuel going into the carby.... but maybe not getting to the pistons??
Sorry im quite basic on this. So... ive taken the carby off to do a rebuild, and as i took it off a small piece came out, Clever me, like a small spear looking thing, i think might be off the float??
Coz im now wondering if its my coil and not my carby, so i dont wana do a carby rebuild if i dont have to, but since that piece has fallen out, i will now have to take it apart??
Also i didnt check if there was spark at the plugs before i pulled the carby off, can i still check that without it??
The carby is a stromberg bendix-tecnico.
HELP ME....

Yeah pretty sure u can. Just make sure u got a ice-cream container to catch the fuel out of the fuel line.

so the spear thing is a needle and seat, which goes in where i took off the fuel line, i hope, coz i put it back in there.
so now im going to go to u pull it and get a $9 coil... any way i can test it down there? as theres no batteries in the cars
