Can 22's be run on a pre-VE? - YES
Can it be done legally? - NO (Load rating + rolling diameter)

22's aren't even legal on a VE...let alone a pre-VE.

as for running 245/30R20's, what a lot of people seem to forget is that a 225/35R20 is a bigger tyre in diameter and in most cases is too large to be legal (not all). The bead area of the tyre still has to seat on the rim and with such little sidewall, the difference in diameter means that a 245/30R20 actually allows more clearance than a 225/35R20 in most cases.

Can you fit 245s with 20s? No. Therefore they aren't perfect.

18s with 245s are perfect imo.

Sorry I didn't clarify, but I'm saying 20's are a perfect size as for looks, not fitment. 22's would just look ridiculous and out of Proportion.

'little work' = flared guards?

Lets not forget that 225/35 barely clears the guard with FE2. I can't imagine how 265s fit with a 'little work' either that or they have 4wd suspension or they can only drive on perfectly flat roads or they have unusable amounts of camber :p

Just because it can be done doesn't make it a good idea.

I have a friend running 255/30/19 i think it was on his vy, on my vs i ran 255/40/17 with compressed sssl's in it lol.

It's all subjective, personally i think 17" or 18" are the best looking.

I agree though also think 19" look good often, and sometime 20".. though in no way 22" on a street car.

In my opinion it really depends on what type of holden and how many horses your running. If your running a hsv, which has a slightly larger bodykit than standard ss's, the 20's or 22's tend to fill the guards a little more. Also with a larger wheel, traction is not an issue off the line... sort of haha. Which is why I just bought a new set of 20's! Gunmetal grey 5 spokers, Chrome lip. Priimme
