253 To 350

I am sure I am not the first person to ask this question but I have a VH with a 253 and a trimatic.
I want to put a 350 in plus a tougher g/box.
Is there any modification to put a 350 in, plus would a 5 spd manual or a 4 spd aut be easier, cheaper, more practicle?

Ummm why put a 350 in it?.a 308 is better used in a commie than a 350.

i must agree i think 350 is alittle over the top and you won't be able to use the power it puts out anyway. also if you put in a 308 u can keep the trimatic in their depanding on your budget.

this has been done..but its ugly
the cops hate it, your local RTA will hate it, you will need an engineers certificate, you will need a fair bit of welding and bulk$$$
problems range from the starter motor being on the wrong side and hitting the
steeering... :b: to the sump or the K frame requiring major mods to get the engine in to the floor needing expanding to fit the trans to non compliance with pollution laws (which can be overcome by running LPG)
to lots more hassles.........
stick a VN 304 in it ..with a 4speed auto behind it....a sweet swap
