I have a VL 304 carby motor and was wondering what mods I can do to the manifold.
I really don't want to use an Edelbrock Performer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could be stating the obvious but match porting it to your heads might help? Is it a original spec thing you don't wish to change or a cost thing?

Just want to keep it looking 'factory'.
Match porting will be done for sure.

I've heard you can grind of the dividers to make it 'brock spec'?
Not really sure though..

At risk of mods attacking me ask this question on Aussie v8 dot com.

The knowledge on there is phenomenal, alot of grumpy guys some weeks but well worth it!

dont cut the divider, cut out the small and large circles so it looks like a kindey shape:

you can get rid of the ribs in the bottom of the intake but IMO its a huge waste of time.

thants about all you need to do to them to make them similar to a performer

Get a 92015955 brock manifold and be done with it
there's one on ebay with 9 other manifolds in a bulk lot for under $300
item number 251048200642

Years ago i dyno'd my vh ss with a performer manifold vs my original 5955 brock manifold (stock on a vh ss) and found that brocky's manifold to be nearly identical in performance.
You'll get better performance than a standard blue/black manifold and still retain factory look with none of the customising messing about.
