4l60e upgrades

hi all, i have a full reco box , cooler, transgo Hd-2 kit, and vette 2/4 servo...not looking at making 1000hp+ but it will cop abuse pretty often....id like to make it as reliable as possible...can someone please put me in some directions please? iv heard about the 5 pinion planeterys, but upon looking am confronted with fron and rears...on a semi tight budget (willing to whip out but cant sink thousands into the box)...which is a neccesity for this type of application?

Id look at a beast retraction shell or sunshell if its going to cop some abuse

is the gearbox out of the car? if not leave it and keep the oil/filter changes regular

Munz, yes its out of the car, hasnt gone in since it got rebuilt. thought id strengthen it while it is out and is readily accessible. ephect, it will definitely cop its fair share of abuse, does anyone have any advive for the 5 pinion planeteries?

I think searching or contacting an auto shop would be the best option, but the thread below has some good points

I would recommend a large trans cooler.
